The Holnek Game and Nature Reserve, near the Swaziland border, offers a moderately challenging 4×4 trail in spectacular mountainous environs with waterfalls and beautiful views  over the Lowveld from the reserve’s location on the edge of the Mpumalanga Drakensberg escarpment.
The valleys, ridges, rocky gulleys with streams and various axle-twisters on the marked trail make for fun and exhilarating off-roading that will test skills in parts, but the main attraction of this trail are the excellent en-route camps, sublime scenery, stunning views and sightings of the many large and small antelope species on the reserve.
Other activities on offer on the reserve are scenic hiking trails, fishing in the reserve’s dams and hunting in the winter months.
Accommodation is available in self-catering chalets and tented camps which are kitted out with the necessities and a bit more – such as swimming pools that are a delightful treat at the end of a hot day 4×4’ing or hiking.
Please note that offroad motorbikes are strictly forbidden on this reserve.
