Your world in one place

A Few Words with Jennifer Su

As a financial news anchor on Sky News, presenter on 5FM, professional singer and corporate AAC, dynamic Jennifer Su wears so many different ‘hats’, it’s fitting that she collects the real thing, too.

Dedicated, detailed, sincere, positive and fun-loving.

Glamorous yet down-to-earth, jet-setting and hectic.

What’s your personal style?

T-shirts and mini-skirts while at work at 5FM, conservative suits on Summit TV, elegant gowns and bling on the red carpet.

Do you collect anything?

Hats! I have over 200.

What does colour mean to you?

I absolutely love fluorescent colours – Stephen Sprouse’s collection for Louis Vuitton in hot pink brightens me up.

Favourite labels?

Fashion-wise, I love South African designers Pallu, Kluk CGDT, Abigail Betz, David Tlale, and Thula Sindi. My favourite shoes are my Jimmy Choos, and the watch I love most is the Chanel J12. I’m also into Dior shades and jewellery by Jenna Clifford. And I adore the skincare range by La Mer.

My BlackBerry

Style-wise, what can South Africa be proud of?

The country’s rich cultural heritage and diversity make for a wealth of interesting motifs, tribal bead work, animal prints, and cutting-edge African trends that are also inspiring international designers.

Best locally made product that you own?

A handmade Zulu hat given to me by 5FM DJ Gareth Cliff.

Describe your idea of a perfect day…

Deep blue skies and cool weather, spending time with my family, anchoring on TV, and ending the day with a gala event or a good braai.

Favourite holiday escapes?

Cape Town, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Paris

Your most treasured piece of furniture?

My Korean medicine chest. I was filming in Seoul and an elderly man asked me for my autograph. The next day, he sent this chest to my hotel room and I brought it with me to South Africa.

My two little boys, Sammy and Michael

A message to live by?

Live each day as if it were your last.
