Addo Elephant National Park camping and caravan site is situated 72kms from Port Elizabeth in the Sundays River Valley of the Zuurberg mountain range.
This relaxing destination offers magnificent sightings of game such as elephant, Cape buffalo, black rhino, lion, leopard and various antelope species. One can sight animals on horseback or travel in your own vehicle with a guide. Guided game drives are also available.
There is the Bedrogfontein 4X4 trail that awaits the adventurous. There are also hiking and horse trails through the Zuurberg mountains. Both within the resort and in the greater national park area, the birding enthusiast can site hundreds of species because of the diversity of habitat in the area.
From luxury guesthouses, forest cabins or chalets to camp and caravan sites, the park has something to suit everyone. Camp and caravan sites are equipped with electrical and water points close by and communal ablution and kitchen facilities with hot and cold water. There is a picnic area for day visitors and a restaurant serving a-la-carte meals and light refreshments. Shops for basic necessities and a swimming pool for residents to enjoy. Credit cards are accepted. No pets allowed. Tourism Grading Council – 3 stars.
From Port Elizabeth, follow N2 past Colchester towards East London. Take N10 towards Patterson. Addo Elephant Park is between N10 and R335. Alternatively, from N2, go towards Addo via Swartkops on the R335.
