‘Wait a Little’ is on of the few horse-back safari operations in South Africa that offers ‘Big 5’ Safaris – though they are for experienced riders only!
Wait a Little is situated at the edge of the Karongwe Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province, 60km south of Tzaneen, and the horse safaris cover large areas of Karongwe and the neighbouring Makalali Game Reserve over 5 to 10 periods.
The horses are thoroughly trained to be comfortable with the proximity of lions and other predators, as well as elephants and any of the other animals you are likely to come across on your safari.
Safaris are conducted by highly experienced guides and riders, and with over 40 trained horses to choose from, horses are carefully matched to rider. The safaris can be fast and exciting and are therefore for experienced riders only.
Accommodation is at the Wait a Little luxury tented camp at ‘base’, while on-safari overnights are supplied at the Beacon Rock Fly Camp with spectacular views, sunrises and sunsets, chalets at the Makalali Reserve and at the Garonga Safari Camp – also in Makalali.
