Blarney Cottage, Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal, Natal Midlands

Blarney Cottage in Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal is the oldest and last surviving settlers’ home in the area. The cottage was built in the 1800’s by the Byrne settlers who arrived from Liverpool and the walls still have original family names etched into the brick dating back to 1878. The cottage has been declared a national monument. Blarney Cottage is located on the Dunbar Estate, along the road to Byrne Valley.
