Bloemfontein Golf Course, Free State, South Africa

Bloemfontein Golf Club, Free State, South AfricaBloemfontein Golf Course was established in 1894 in the largest city in the Free State Province, South Africa. The club is the premier golf club in the Free State and the course ranks in the top hundred in South Africa.

Originally designed by the number one course architect of the day, Bob Grimsdell, the course has hosted many of the top tournaments in the country from the South African Amateur Championship in 1906 to the SA Open in 1958 and 1964 to the SA Masters in 1961. Various inter-provincial and Sunshine Tour tournaments have been held over the years.

The course was redesigned by Peter Matkovich in 1995, all greens being re-shaped and bunkered. The result is a far more rewarding and challenging layout off the back tees and fun to play off the other tees.

The club is ideally suited to corporate golf days and functions.
