Borakalalo National Park

The malaria-free 14000ha Borakalalo National Park in situated 60km north of Brits in the North West Province of South Africa, and offers 3 star accommodations, excellent game viewing and birding in hot acacia savannah, woodland and riverine forest biomes, with exceptional bird-life and animal sightings.

The Moretele river runs through the reserve and there is also a small dam with good fishing. Rare birds such as the African Finefoot and the White-backed Heron are counted among the 350 plus species of bird found on Borakalalo, and there are many species of antelope, Zebra, Giraffe and White Rhino that can be seen. Leopard also roam the reserve.

Activities include self-game drives and walking trails, and accommodations are available in the Moratele and Phudufudu tented camps.

Getting there: Take Van De Venter St. north from Brits for 60km to the settlement of Jericho at the entrance to the Park, following the signs through a couple of turns for Borakalalo.
