Bosman Family Vineyards

Bosman Family Vineyards has a legacy going back 8 generations  on the farm Lelienfontein since 1798. The estate was originally granted to French Huguenot, Phillip van Royan by Willem Adriaan van der Stel, governor of the Cape in 1699.

In 1956 the family ceased producing wine and concentrated on their vine nursery. However, after renovating the 250 year old cellar, their knowledge of the terroir drew them back into winemaking and the first of the modern wines were released in 2007.

The philosophy is to produce high quality boutique wines with as little intervention in the process as possible. Grapes are handpicked and meticulously hand sorted so as to allow the quality of the fruit to be predominant. The results are wines full of flavour and soft tannins with the elegance of the Old World and the intense fruit flavours of the New.

The estate holds a number of events during the year – lunch under the ancient oaks with music, great food and wine tasting being very popular.
