Centurion, Northern Gauteng

Centurion, Northern GautengThe picturesque area that comprises Centurion is a good example of lifestyle living around business parks.

It has attracted a population of over 300000, some working locally in Centurion and others commuting. It is easy to see why. The location is very convenient, between Midrand and Pretoria, and the ease of access to major roadways linking it to Johannesburg, Midrand, Krugersdorp, Pretoria and Oliver Tambo International airport, is fantastic.

Centurion is also known for the lifestyle, either in country areas or in one of the many modern designer lifestyle estates that have popped up.

As Centurion is quite a new area, originating from and around the Lyttelton Township, many find the boundaries between it, Midrand in the south and Pretoria in the north, unclear.  These are some of the suburbs now incorporated into Centurion – Amberfield, Bronberrik, Celtisdal, Centurion CBD, Claudius, Clubview, Cornwall Hill, Die Hoewes, Doornkloof, Doringkloof, Eldo Glen, Eldo Park, Eldo View, Eldoraigne, Eldoraigne Glen, Eldoraigne Park, Eldow Meadows, Erasmia,  Hennopspark, Heuweloord, Heuwelsig, Highveld, Irene, , Kloofsig, Laudium, Lyttelton, Lyttelton Hoewes, Lyttelton Manor, Monrick, Olievenhoutbosch, Pierre van Ryneveld Park,Raslouw, Rietvleirand, Rooihuiskraal, Southdowns, Sunderland Ridge, Swartkop Ext, Tamarapark, Thatchfield, The Reeds, Valhalla, Villa Rosa, Wierda Park, Wierda Park South and Zwartkop.

The central business district of Centurion is built around a man-made lake where you can find open-air restaurants alongside office blocks mirrored in the water. Centurion is also home to probably the biggest shopping Mall in South Africa, with over 200 shops, restaurants and entertainment.

Centurion is just north of Midrand on the N1, towards Pretoria.
