The Christie Prins hiking trails start and end on Koelfontein farm, 4km north-west of Prince Alfred’s Hamlet in the Skurweberg Mountains.
This hiking trail was established as an Eco-tourism project by one of the local primary schools. The route is named after a local conservationist of the area.
There are two routes: One of ±2 hours, which wanders through fynbos and has spectacular views and one of ±4 hours which has a steep incline for 1km and has a lovely natural pool for cooling off.
Permits, map and key are available at the Hamlet Country Lodge, in Prince Alfred’s Hamlet (9km from Ceres): Tel: 023 313 3070. Route Map and Trail description also available at the Ceres Tourism information office, Tel: 023 316 1287.
