Crocworld welcomes Elliot the Emu

Crocworld welcomes Elliot the Emu to the family

Scottburgh-based Crocworld Conservation Centre welcomed a new addition to its fold – Elliot the Emu.

Ryne Ferguson, Crocworld Conservation Centre Bird Curator commented: “We’re very excited to welcome Elliot to the center, he’s already settled in very well among the rest of the barnyard crew!”

Emus are flightless Australian birds and the second tallest bird on the planet after the ostrich. Elliot joins many other bird residents at Crocworld, both indigenous and exotic, among them Cape Vultures, Booted Eagles, Fish Eagles, and Mute Swans.

The center is also home to a variety of reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids, with the on-site animal farm a great place for youngsters to interact with goats, bunnies, guinea pigs, and more!

There are also daily crocodile feedings and talks at 11 am and 3 pm from Tuesdays to Sundays.
