Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge is situated outside of Badplaas, a quaint town in Mpumalanga.
The main lodge has its own restaurant and cocktail bar where visitors can enjoy beverages at the bar or outside on the verandah. There is a lovely outdoor boma and swimming pool. Dawsons also boasts its own spa and wellness centre. Child minding facilities are offered and the lodge can also host conferences and weddings.
Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge provide access to walks, bird watching, horse riding and scenic hikes. There are 7 dams where trout and bass fishing is popular. There are no dangerous animals at the lodge and guided game drives can be arranged to view zebra, eland, wildebeest and impala, springbok and even Nguni cattle. Big 5 lovers can take a trip to the Kruger National Park approximately 82km’s from Badplaas. Waterfalls form a part of the Komati River, which flows from dam to dam at the Lodge, and lookout points over the valleys and across the mountains are ideal picnic spots. Golfers can play a round at the Badplaas Golf Club.
Accommodation comprises of 3 options. There are 8 luxurious king rooms, all en-suite and are elegantly decorated with a fireplace and heated towel rails. Sherry and nuts are provided, a stocked bar fridge, tea and freshly ground coffee making facilities, and a walk-in closet.
There is a quaint mountainside cottage accommodating up to 6 people. The cottage has access to its own trout dam, a fully equipped kitchen, DSTV, bathroom and an outdoor verandah with braai facilities.
A classically restored farmhouse consists of 7 double rooms, 5 being en-suite, accommodating up to 14 people. The farmhouse has a TV room and an open plan, fully equipped kitchen and lounge area. The rooms, cottage and farmhouse are serviced daily.
