Wonderful traditional donkey cart trails are on offer in the northern Cederberg. This is an exhilarating way of enjoying a pristine part of the Cederberg Mountains whilst creating tourism jobs for local people. This excursion starts at the top of the Pakhuis Pass where you can leave your car, and takes one to the mission village of Heuningvlei. A variety of options are available after the 2-4 hour trip to Heuningvlei. One can return the same way or continue on a hiking trail or stay overnight.
