Drakensberg Boys Choir is a world famous choir school set in a 100 acre estate about 30 km from the town of Winterton in the Drakensberg Region of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The school was initially founded as a farm school in 1967 and has developed into a South African musical icon.
Since 1971 the choir has toured the world visiting the USA, Europe and the Far East. This multi-racial, multi-cultural choir school located in the magnificent Champagne Valley rivals the famous Vienna Boys Choir.
In 1995 a 600 seat auditorium was built with state of the art sound and lighting technology allowing the school to attain an exceptionally high level of professionalism. On most Wednesday nights you can attend performances including music by the famous classical composers as well as folk, jazz and pop performed with complex rhythms and melodies. Many festivals are held throughout the year and the choir tours South Africa regularly
