Drakensberg Canopy Tour is located in the Blue Grotto Forest just outside the Monks Cowl area of the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park. Access to the area is through the nearby town of Winterton.
The tour is a wonderful experience for the eco-tourist and great fun for a family adventure. Glide between platforms set high up in the tree canopy and on cliff faces and experience the timeless atmosphere of the forest, the mountains and the prolific bird life – over 150 species including the rare Bush Blackcap.
The tour is led by trained guides and is absolutely safe. School tours and corporate team building events can be organized. The tour lasts for approximately 3 hours after which you can enjoy a light meal.
Getting there: from the north take the N3 and turn off onto the R600 to Winterton. Carry on straight until you see the sign to the Canopy Tour to the right. From the South turn off the N3 at Colenso to Winterton and then left onto the R600.
