The Dullstroom Bird of Prey & Rehabilitation Centre was established in 1997 in the small town of Dullstroom, with the aim of promoting an awareness of the raptor species and their plight as a growing endangered species.
Today the Centre is extensively involved in promoting the well being of these incredible species.
Public support to maintain their efforts is something they heavily rely on and they will appreciate any form of assistance they can get.

Experience Days
Get a close up view of how raptors fly and attack their prey and be amazed at how agile and graceful these birds are in flight and attack.
The Dullstroom Bird Of Prey & Rehabilitation Centre also travels all over Mpumalanga to perform shows within Mpumalanga and is very popular among schools.
Flight Displays
Flight Display Times are from Wednesdays to Mondays at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm – subject to weather conditions and can be coordinated to suit tour buses or school educational trips.
Admittance Fees:
- Adults – R50.00
- Children under 16yrs – R15.00
- Children under 3yrs – Free
Handling Days
Here’s your chance to fly a selection of owls and other species. You will get to call the birds to your glove and feed them at close quarters.
Your handling experience starts at 10:00 am with an introduction to the work we do hereafter you join us for a flight display demonstration. After the demonstration, the show is all yours to fly a selection of birds. Don’t forget your camera.
After this, it is back up to the centre where you we will be taken into the vulture enclosure and witness them in a feeding frenzy.
- The cost is R350.00. A friend or family member can attend with you to take pictures etc. The cost for this is R60.00.
Photographic Days
Come and spend a morning with us, and we will devote our time to your perfect shot.

- Flying shots of owls
- Natural poses
The cost is R350.00 per person
Spouse or friend accompanying R60.00 per person
It starts at 7:00 am, finishes around 9:00 to 10:00 am, but you can stay for the show at 10:30 and get more of those special shots, so allow time until around midday.
These are available at any time. Just pick two dates that are suitable for you, and they’ll fit you in.
