The Durbanville Wine Valley, about 20 Km north west of Cape Town, is the coolest wine growing area near the city. This fact combined with the north-south axis of the valley and exposure to the south easterly winds has created a perfect climate for slow ripening so important for good quality grapes. This was recognised as early as the turn of the 17th century when the first wine surplus was produced.
The Durbanville Hills Cellar is the largest producer and is best known for the multiple award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay wines marketed under the Durbanville Hills and Renosterfields labels and the single vineyard Biesjes Craal Sauvignon Blanc.
The cellar is an excellent venue for weddings and functions with Table Mountain and Robben Island providing a magnificent backdrop to the rolling green vineyards. The Eatery Restaurant is well known for its excellent cuisine and service. Durbanville Hills is ideally suited to host your corporate functions and allow you to enjoy time out of the city with fellow business partners or clients. Whether you prefer a hearty lunch coupled with a wine tasting, canapés at sunset or dinner with the glittering lights of the city landscape as your backdrop, you can rely on them to arrange an unforgettable event.
