Edenburg, Xhariep Region, Free State

Edenburg, Free State, South Africa
Edenburg is a small farming village in the Xhariep Region of the Free State, in the middle of a sheep farming, cattle ranching and horse breeding area of the Central Free State, not far from Trompsburg, and about 80km south of Bloemfontein.

Edenburg offers wide open spaces and country guest house accommodation in a part of South Africa where you still see donkey carts on the endless straight roads, beautiful if sometimes run-down old buildings and where you can enjoy the unique hospitality the Free State is famous for.

Getting there: Take the N1 north from Trompsburg for 42km, turning left on to the R717 for Edenburg.
