ShowMe South Africa

The Elands River Falls drop 70m down the Elands River Gorge from the Mpumalanga Highlands on their way down to the Lowveld.

The Gorge is one of South Africa’s top rock climbing and abseiling destinations. There is also an observation platform which can be accessed via an old tunnel called the ZASM tunnel

Nearby towns are Emgwenya – also called Waterval Boven (above the falls), Waterval Onder (below the falls), Machadodorp and Badplaas just 40km away.

Getting there: Waterval Boven is situated on the N4. From Johannesburg take the N12 east till it merges on to the N4 after about 125km. Continue on the N4 for a further 125km till you see the signs for the ZASM Ave and Emgwenya or Waterval Boven.
