ShowMe South Africa

Fishing in YzerfonteinYzerfontein is situated on a rocky headland that has vast expanses of beach on either side of it. When the snoek are running, the tiny harbour becomes a hive of activity and it is on this headland that most of the fishing takes place. Deep gullies and rocky points punctuate the headland to the south of the harbour and produce good catches of galjoen in winter and hottentot throughout the year.

Getting there: from Cape Town, follow the R27 West Coast road. Turn left at the R315 Yzerfontein turnoff and follow the road into Yzerfontein.
