Four Flies Nature Farm is tucked away in a valley 20 km’s from Carolina in Mpumalanga.
The guest farm has a ‘sacred’ room for those seeking a spiritual retreat.
Various activities are available on the farm including trout fishing, swing ball and other board games. Arrange for a picnic basket and feast under trees in nature. Classes for arts and crafts are also offered. Enjoy a stroll through the labyrinth on the farm. Alternatively, there are hikes and 4×4 trails to be enjoyed. Attractions of a cultural and historical nature are a must see. Visit the lookout points to see the Blyde River Canyon.
Four Flies offers luxury accommodation in a house and has been awarded 4 stars by the National Tourism Grading Council. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are shared amongst the bedrooms. Meals are included as well as tea and coffee.
From Nelspruit, take the N4 towards Machadodorp, then take the R36 towards Carolina. After crossing the Komati River, look for the turn-off to Doornkop on the left. Follow the dirt road through Doornkop Reserve to a T-junction. Turn left and after 3km’s take the right turn-off to Four Flies and continue for 1,5km’s.
From Johannesburg / Pretoria take the N12 / N4 to Witbank. Continue past Middelburg on the N4 and at Wonderfontein, turn right towards Carolina on the R33. In Carolina, at the 4-way stop (with the BP garage on your left), turn left on the R36 towards Machadodorp. After about 5 km’s, take the Kalkkloof turn to the right. After about 17km’s on a dirt road, turn right towards Four Flies and continue for 1,5km’s to the farm.
