Gamtoos Valley B&B and Self Catering is situated in the Vegetable Basket known as the Gamtoos Valley in the quaint agricultural town of Patensie, in the Eastern Cape.
An hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth, this is the gateway to the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve. Enjoy a wonderful breakfast in the main house dining room or prepare one yourself and feast on your own private patio before embarking on the many activities and attractions in the area. If unwinding at the guest house is your choice, feel free to sit back and unwind next to the swimming pool with a good book or prepare a braai treat for an early dinner in the communal braai area.
Game viewing can be arranged or drive yourself and appreciate the splendour of the Reserve and its untouched beauty. Jeffreys and St Francis Bay are nearby where you can find shopping malls and tantalizing restaurants. The superb Garden Route and its towns are within a 2 hour drive. Exhilaration awaits you at the Bloukrans Bungee Jump Site. Hiking trails will amaze with the prolific fauna and flora of the area.
There are 2 suites: 1 double room, and an air conditioned twin room with an extra 2 beds and a private patio. The view is magnificent as it overlooks the valley to the majestic mountains in the distance. Both have a full bathroom and a small kitchenette with fridge and microwave.
Directions: Coming from Port Elizabeth, turn right at Tolbos country and coffee shop (if coming from the Baviaanskloof, turn left immediately past Tolbos) into Charlie Malan. Follow the bend right into Delport and then left into Kerk, past the church. Take the left fork into Heuwel. Turn right into Protea (there is no sign here but it is the first right in Heuwel). Take the left fork into Alexander and continue round the bend until you see the “Gamtoos B&B” sign.
