Jacaranda FM is thrilled to announce that the 2024 Good Morning Angels Golf Day, held on Thursday, 5 September at the Centurion Irene Country Club, was a tremendous success, raising an astonishing R4.85 million to support those in need.
Thanks to the generosity, creativity, and dedication of participants and sponsors, the station exceeded its fundraising targets, securing essential funds to create lasting, positive change. With over 60 companies participating, the event showcased remarkable backing for the Good Morning Angels initiative.
The 2024 Golf Day wasn’t just a fundraising event—it was a celebration of empathy, kindness, and hope. Participants and supporters came together in an atmosphere filled with camaraderie, all driven by a shared commitment to a cause close to many hearts. The funds raised will empower Good Morning Angels to continue providing critical support to families and individuals facing hardship, ensuring they receive the assistance they need to overcome their struggles.

“This year’s Golf Day exceeded all expectations. The tee box sponsors made it exciting and fun, and the generosity from our supporters made this our biggest event to date,” said Martin Bester. “After raising R4 million last year, I wasn’t sure we’d top it, but our listeners, sponsors, and new friends helped us go above and beyond. The incredible support from the Jacaranda FM family means we’re now in an even better position to change lives. I’m truly proud to have been part of such an amazing day.”

- Outsurance – 105 points (Carl Louw and team)
- GMA Celebs 1 – 101 points (Paul Harris, Ampie, Altus Thiart & first-time golfer Kirsten)
- MLM Logistics – 100 points (Drikus Joubert and team)
- MSC Cruises – 99 points (Ross Volk and team)
The “Longest Day” award went to the Gouws family, who, despite their technique, brought a lively spirit to the event. Additionally, the “Last 4-ball” auction saw Raul Lima from Auto Magic Centurion winning the bid to play with Martin Bester for R150,000. He invited Damian Morgan from Brakecore Supply, the second-highest bidder, to join for a combined total of R225,000.
Creativity and Generosity Shine Through Competitions
The event also featured a hole sponsor competition, where sponsors went above and beyond to create an engaging atmosphere while raising extra funds. This creativity added to the event’s energy, driving additional contributions to the Good Morning Angels Fund.
The auction raised R1 million, with standout moments like Rock Blend Ready Mix purchasing a Jacaranda FM advertising campaign valued at R500,000 for R450,000, exemplifying the event’s spirit of generosity.

- 1st Place: Hole 15, sponsored by M&D Radiology/JHB Surgical Hospital, winning R150,000 in airtime for their innovative setup.
- 2nd Place: Hole 14, sponsored by Capital Legacy, winning R75,000 in airtime.
- 3rd Place: Hole 2, sponsored by Saxeni Holdings, winning R50,000 in airtime.
