Escape to Goodluck Homestead: Your Sustainable Sanctuary in the Overberg
Nestled in the heart of the stunning Overberg region, Goodluck Homestead is more than just a farm—it’s a passionate journey into sustainable living and natural beauty. Here, we honor our deep appreciation for the land through regenerative farming practices that ensure our soil thrives, producing healthy, natural food for you to enjoy.
At Goodluck Homestead we believe in fostering a deep connection with the land and its inhabitants. Our animals roam freely in their large camps, living their lives with dignity and respect. We believe that happy animals make for better food, which is why we prioritise their well-being above all else.
Our Guests are also free to roam the farm and harvest herbs and vegetables in our organic veggie gardens, visit the animals (always remembering to close the gates behind you) or simply relax in the beauty of nature with a glass of wine made from grapes grown naturally on the farm. If you’re a keen bird watcher, you won’t be disappointed in the abundant birdlife around the farm. Our spring fed dams are perfect for a swim, paddle or fishing.

About Goodluck Homestead
Three years ago, we acquired the farm from Naas and Elsabe, in partnership with an investor, with a vision to continue wine production and diversify with new income streams. Our additions include guest accommodations, free-range pork and goat meat, beef cattle, and bees for honey and wax production. We’ve also established two veggie gardens and plan to introduce a micro dairy in the next year.
While the farm is still called Vaalvlei Farm, we trade as Goodluck Homestead, reflecting our commitment to good fortune and sustainable living.
Book your stay today and escape to a sanctuary where the land thrives, and nature abounds.
