Hazyview is a small farming town in Mpumalanga, deriving its name from the haze that envelops the town in the midst of the summer heat. Renowned for having the best climate in the world for growing bananas, the area is dominated by plantation after plantation of the world’s finest specimens of the fruit.
Hazyview is situated conveniently close to some of the country’s top game-viewing opportunities, such as the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and the Kruger National Park. This makes it an ideal destination for any nature lover venturing into Mpumalanga.
A popular sightseeing attraction in Hazyview is the Shangana Cultural Village, a traditional village where visitors can share in the way of life of the Shangana people. Created and built by local Shanganas, it is a place of great pride for the tribe, and it is an honour for visitors to be able to share their traditions with them.
