The Hester Rupert Art Museum in Graaff-Reinet is situated in one of Graaff Reinet’s many Cape Dutch buildings, and the inside is as full of South African heritage as the outside.
The Museum houses 126 works from 106 South African artists – all of which have either human or natural heritage and historical value. Most date back to the 1960’s.
All the works have been donated by the artists themselves, and include paitings and sculptures that are representative of their best works.
The Hester Rupert Art Museum is open Mon – Fri, and in true Karoo style, closes over lunch-time.
