Starting on the pole, Perez lost the lead to Fernando Alonso on the run down to Turn 1, but later made his way back past the Spaniard. Perez’s teammate, Max Verstappen, finished second after starting from 15th on the grid – due to suffering a driveshaft issue in qualifying.
Sergio Perez took an assured victory at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Sunday, ahead of his teammate Max Verstappen, as Red Bull reaffirmed its dominance over their Formula One competitor with a second successive one-two of the season.
Mercedes’ George Russell was the fourth car to cross the line, the Briton then brieJeddah, Saudi Arabiafly inherited P3 due to Alonso being given a 10-second penalty after the race, only for the decision to later be overturned. The Briton finished fourth, ahead of the other Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton.

Lance Stroll brought out the Safety Car after he was told to stop his Aston Martin on track amid mechanical trouble, while Williams’ Alex Albon also retired from the race with a brake problem.
