The Five Bay Trail is a gentle trail that hugs the coastline between the bays of Paternoster and Jacobsbaai on the West Coast. The trail takes you on a timeless journey along the coast, tracing the history of the fishing culture on the West Coast. The trail takes you to five scenic bays on this magnificent stretch of coastline, over a relaxed 2.5 day walking period. Getting there: meet at the Klein Paternoster self-catering cottages mid-day on the first day. From Cape Town, take the R27 going north along the West Coast. Take the R45 turn off going into Vredenberg, which then becomes the R399. Follow the R399 in to Paternoster.
