Kaapsehoop Horse Trails

‘There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man’.

This is the motto of Kaapsehoop Horse Trails in Kaapsehoop, 35km from Nelspruit on the escarpment.

The 17 000ha area  of plantations, hills and valleys through which the trails wind is nothing short of spectacularly beautiful – as they state – it’s  place to ‘Revive Your Soul’.

Kaapsehoop Horse Trails offer 1 hour trails for both experienced riders and beginners, and a choice of English or Western saddles and tack.  A 3 day Wilderness Trail is offered for competent riders only.

Accommodation is available, and they also offer 5 day Pony Camps and Volunteer programmes.

As a bonus for horse-lovers, there is an Arabian Stud at Kaapsehoop and a genuine herd of around 200 wild horses, descended from 19th century gold prospecting days. These horses run free on the 17 000ha property and the truly wild and healthy herds are sought after by photographers.
