The Kgaswane Mountain Reserve in the Magaliesberg was previously known as the ‘Rustenberg Nature Reserve’ and is situated just south of the city of Rustenburg. The 4260ha reserve preserves a pristine Magaliesberg Mountain habitat and features some spectacular hiking trails and bird-life.
The reserve is well known for a breeding programme to save the rare and highly threatened Sable Antelope, but there are over 80 different mammal species on the reserve and more than 300 species of bird!
There is also a visitor centre on the reserve as well as picknicking, camping and caravaning facilities.
