Kiepersol is a forested and fruit plantation area on the Mpumalanga Panorama Route, close to the small town of Hazyview.
Kiepersol is named after the indigenous Cabbage Tree, also called the Kiepersol, which grows in abundance in the Lowveld, but the surrounds are mostly banana plantations. Other fruit grown in the area includes mangos, avos and macadamias.
Kiepersol and nearby Hazyview are popular adventure biking and toursim destinations thanks to the undulating and winding farm roads through the plantations, the beautiful mountain views and proximity to the Kruger Park, the Blyde River Canyon, open roads and fantastic sightseeing.
Other popular activities include hiking, river rafting, fly-fishing, cycling, mtb, horse trails and hot air ballooning, with most adventure and outdoors activities operators based in Hazyview.
Like its sister ‘town’ of Hazyview, Keipersol offers superb scenery, a fantastic sub-tropical climate and plenty of guest lodge accommodation in lush, rural surrounds barely a half hour’s drive from the Numbi Gate to the Kruger National Park.
Getting there: Nelspruit take the R40 north via White River. Kiepersol is an hour’s drive from Nelspruit.
