Kimberley Ghost Tours – the Ghost Trail, Kimberley

Even if you don’t believe in ghosts, the Kimberley Ghost Trail will thrill and entertain. The trail is well known nationally and offered by a number of tour operators, though they act as third parties to the historians and ‘ghost hunters’ who conduct and guide the tours.

There are 158 ‘verified’ haunted houses and buildings in Kimberley, each with a fascinating and spine chilling story to tell. These include the the old De Beers boardroom, where mysterious balls of fire are said to have dropped from the ceiling, memorials, homes and servants quarters where multiple ethereal figures have been encountered, the old Kimberley Club where a ghost waiter has been seen serving tables, and the Magersfontein Anglo-Boer War battlefield where many have seen the ghostly lanterns of stretcher bearers as they take the dead away – again and again. There’s a ghost dog, a ghostly baby wail, a phntom nun, and, of course, a white lady on a balcony.

There are another 200 sites in Kimberley awaiting investigation by paranormal experts, hoping to be included in future ghost trails. Believe it or not, the ghost trail offers an extraordinarily detailed historical tour and one you may never forget!

Tours are conducted at night – beginning at 6pm and ending after 10pm and up to the witching hour…it’s partly up to you.
