Kingsburgh is a resort town on the south Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. The residential areas of Illovo Beach, Warner Beach, Winklespruit and Karridene are within the municipality of Kingsburgh although they all have their own identity and are therefore recognized as quasi-villages in their own right. The residential area of Karridene is much smaller and is therefore treated as a suburb of Kingsburgh.
The town is only about 8 km south of Amanzimtoti and is really part of one continuous populated area. The stand out features of this part of the South Coast are the endless pristine beaches, all shark protected and manned by lifesavers. It is truly a beach holiday paradise for families.
Because the entire South Coast is so compact, one is never far away from any of the main attractions. There are excellent golf courses at Amanzimtoti and Umkomaas and two of the top 100 courses in the country are within easy driving distance – Umdoni Park and Selborne. There are numerous nature reserves in the area offering hiking trails, bird watching, picnic sites, mountain biking and game viewing.
The world class dive site on the Aliwal Shoal can be accessed from Umkomaas a few kilometers away and the wonder of the Sardine Run can be experienced. Warner Beach is one of the top surfing beaches in the country.
