KWV was established as a cooperative by the wine farmers of South Africa in 1918. Until the early 1990s it played a role as a regulating body for the wine industry but this function became redundant when South African wines gained worldwide acceptance.
KWV in Paarl is now one of the largest cellar complexes in the world covering 22Ha. With the world renowned Cathedral Cellar, advanced technology and superb wines and brandies, a tasting experience at KWV is not to be missed.
Tours of the amazing Cathedral Cellar with 5 of the largest vats in the world take place daily. If you’re interested in the technical side of winemaking, join the Technical Tour by reservation only. Wine and brandy tastings take place daily, all day and are interestingly combined with your choice of chocolate or biltong.
