Lower Sabie Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park is rated as one of the best places in the park to spot the Big-Five. Often, all are spotted in a single day on a drive from the camp. This, together with its magnificent location on the banks of the Sabie River make it one of the most popular rest camps in the park. The camp is generally full year-round, so it is essential that you make your booking well in advance to avoid disappointment.
Sunset Dam, nearby the camp is one of the best game-viewing waterholes in the park, and it’s always great to sip sundowners while watching hippos frolick around in the water. Some of the best game viewing drives in the park are in the camp’s surrounds, and it would be worth your while to be on sharp lookout for leopard, lion and wild dog on any drive in this area.
