Mbewu Fields Guest Farm, BaviaanskloofMbewu Fields Guest Farm is located in the International World Heritage Site, the Baviaanskloof in the Eastern Cape.

A rustic getaway with all the comforts of home will have guests feeling completely relaxed. Roaring indoor fires and puffy couches, scenic surroundings and views from the verandah overlooking the Kouga River are guaranteed to calm any weary minds. Enjoy your prepared meals from the upstairs balcony while the calls of the wild soothe the soul.

As the farm is situated in the Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve, guests can enjoy the many hiking trails with spectacular views, discovering gorges and waterfalls and dipping in the waterfall pools. Natural springs will be seen and a plethora of fauna and flora. Fynbos is prolific on the cliffs and in the garden of the establishment. Guests can also enjoy 4×4 trails or simply relax in the tranquil surroundings.

The mainhouse known as Semane Lodge accommodates 8 to 10 people, with 4 bedrooms, 2 being en-suite. There is a 2nd bathroom and toilet downstairs. A typical farmstyle kitchen is fully equipped for all self catering requirements. A separate stone cottage can accommodate 4 people. All accommodation is classically decorated with that rustic feel, perfect for a relaxed company conference or teambuilding weekend away.

Directions: Travelling westward on the N2 from Port Elizabeth take the turnoff onto the R62 signposted ‘Kareedouw’. Continue into the hills and at Kareedouw turn left on the R62 towards ‘Joubertina’. Bypass Joubertina on the R62 and lookout for the signs half a kilometer beyond Joubertina marked ‘Onderkouga’. Turn right here onto a dirt road. Drive exactly 13.3km on this dirt road, through the hamlet of Kransfontein till you reach the turnoff on the left signposted ‘Mbewu Fields’. Drive through the gate and down 1.1km to the riverside and ‘Semane Lodge’.
