Mbombela Golf Club is located in the capital city of Mpumalanga close to the world famous Kruger National Park. This area is the wild life tourist mecca of South Africa and the Mbombela Golf Club is a unique bush golfing experience. However, the wildness of the area does not detract from the quality of this outstanding course.
The course was originally designed by Bob Grimsdell in 1939, updated and increased to 18 holes by him in 1967/8 and then finally upgraded by Peter Matkovich in 1998. Indigenous trees line the fairways and a huge fig tree with a span of 40 metres between the 6th and the 18th fairways is a spectacular obstacle for the unweary. See more information on a round of golf here.
The patio of the thatched clubhouse enjoys panoramic views of the course and the bushveld and a festive bar will round off a great day of golf at the 19th hole. The Club provides golf carts, a well-stocked pro shop and excellent practice facilities.
At Nelspruit Golf Club visitors are treated exactly like the members at sincerely affordable green fee rates, as well as bar prices that are tough to beat anywhere in South Africa.
