The 3500ha Moolmanshoek Private Game Reserve and horse farm is situated at the foot of the Witteberge Mountains (part of the Maluti Mountain Range) in the scenic Eastern Free State district of Ficksburg, between the towns of Ficksburg and Rosendal.

The Reserve features a 4 Star Lodge, wedding chapel and conference facility. There are several hiking trails on the Reserve itself, and starting on the Reserve into the surrounding foothills. There is also a 4X4 trail, horse-riding, horse safari trails, abseiling, mountain biking and fly-fishing among other activities. Both night and day game drives are offered.

The Reserve protects a declared heritage site of the Eastern Free State Highlands, but also encompasses two Boerperd and Endurance Horse Studs. Wildlife than can be viewed include Wildebeest, Burchell’s Zebra, Springbok, Blesbok, Eland and Oryx among other species of Antelope.

Getting there: Turn left on to the R70 from Ficksburg, in the direction of Rosendal. Travel for 29km and then turn right on the S384. Continue on this road for 7.5 km to the entrance.
