Mount Hlumu is located in Badplaas, a small town in Mpumalanga.
The lodge is situated between the Hlumhlumu Mountains and offers spectacular views. There is a swimming pool and secluded braai facility in the garden. Breakfast and dinner are served in the dining room or outside on the verandah. Mount Hlumu has a licensed bar and games room with fireplace where guests can enjoy a game of darts or pool, or catch up on sport on the big screen TV. There are conference facilities catering for between 30 and 50 delegates. Secure parking is offered. Internet access is not available. Packages for dinner, bed and breakfast, self catering or bed and breakfast only are available.
Mount Hlumu borders the Overvaal Nature Reserve where walking and hiking trails are located. Entertainment for children in the form of a trampoline, jungle gym and playground are on the lodge premises. The Badplaas Golf Course offers avid golfers a challenging course. The world renowned Kruger National Park is 80km’s from Badplaas and features the Big 5. Stroll around the farm and view the many bird species and other wildlife including vervet monkeys, kudu and reedbuck.
There are 12 chalets where some are on a room only basis and others are fully equipped for self catering purposes. Each chalet is en-suite, has ceiling fans, heaters available on request and a private patio with mountain views. Tea and coffee making facilities are available, also ironing and laundry services. The chalets are serviced daily with linen and towels provided.
Travel on the R21 from Johannesburg towards Boksburg. Take exit 429/ Rietfontein to merge onto the N12 towards Witbank. Travel for 113 km. Merge onto the N4. After 28.1 km, take the ramp towards the N11. Turn right onto the N11. After 42.2 km, turn left onto the R38. Continuing for 38.2 km. Turn left onto the R36/R38. Travel for 4.6 km. Turn right onto Voortrekker Street/R33/R38. Continue on the R38. Turn right after 6.1 km to stay on the R38. After 41.2 km, turn left. Continue and turn right; follow the road for 2.7 km. Turn right and follow the road to Mount Hlumu.
