Discover Serenity at Mountain Sanctuary Park

Nestled in the breathtaking Magaliesburg area, just 120km west of Johannesburg, the Mountain Sanctuary Park is a 1000-hectare privately owned nature reserve that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Perfect for both Gauteng residents seeking relaxation and tourists looking to connect with nature, this hidden gem promises peace and rejuvenation.

The park boasts a variety of activities to suit every adventurer:

  • Game Viewing: Spot wildlife in their natural habitat.
  • Hiking Trails: Explore both off-trail and designated paths, including an 8-hour day hike for the more adventurous.
  • Rock Climbing & Abseiling: Conquer the cliffs and take in panoramic views.
  • Mountain Biking: Ride through scenic routes surrounded by untouched beauty.

And if relaxation is your goal, take a leisurely walk to the Tonquani Rock Pools. These crystal-clear mountain spring pools provide the perfect spot for a refreshing swim or simply to soak in the serenity. Whether you’re braaing with friends or basking in the sun, Mountain Sanctuary Park is the ultimate retreat for nature lovers.

Besides the activities offered, the Mountain Sanctuary Park is a camper’s haven with 30 camp sites over the reserve. Other accommodations on the reserve are self-catering chalets and log cabins. Facilities include a lapa, pool, freezer facilities and a shop. The chalets and log cabins are fully equipped except for bedding.
