
Petrusburg is a small farming town in the Xhariep Region of the Free State, best known for its annual potato festival – the Aartappel Fees, and for some beautiful examples of classic Karoo Victorian architecture.
Petrusburg is situated on the N8 between Kimberly and Bloemfontein, and offers some delightful guest houses as well as amenities for people travelling between the two towns. The area around Petrusburg is a diverse farming area, with maize and sunflower fields, sheep, cattle potatos and other crops. There are also guest farms and at least one private game lodge offering game viewing.
Nearby attractions include the Kalkfontein Dam Nature Reserve as well as the attractions offered by both Kimberley and Bloemfontein.
