Port Shepstone Country Club Golf Course is on the Hibiscus Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, about 100 km from Durban. It is one of the most popular courses on the South Coast and is particularly attractive because of the beautiful setting, abundant bird life and wildlife.
The first nine holes were laid out in Port Shepstone in 1912 with sand greens. Since then the course has been re-designed by Syd Brews and has recently been upgraded with new greens being added and raised to avoid being waterlogged.
The first nine holes are regarded by many as one of the best in South Africa with bush, huge trees and mangroves bordering the fairways. By contrast the second nine is more like a links course with a number of water hazards and where wind can present a challenge.
The course was the home of the Nomads National in 2012 as well as the SA Women’s Pro-Am and the 2012 KZN Amateur Open
There is a well-stocked pro shop where clubs can be hired.
