Ramskop Nature Reserve, Clanwilliam

Ramskop Nature Reserve ClanwilliamThe Wild Flower Garden in the Ramskop Nature Reserve, Clanwilliam, contains more than 350 species of wild flowers. The beautifully laid-out paths through the garden offer spectacular views over the Clanwilliam Dam and towards the Cederberg mountains. Thousands of visitors frequent the reserve in the months of August and September – wildflower season.

The best viewing times are between 11h00 and 15h00. There is also a short hiking trail from the flower garden to the dam wall. During the season the Woman’s Organisation offers light refreshments at the garden. (For groups wishing to make use of the facility it is recommended that arrangements be made in advance). Please enquire at Clanwilliam Tourism about this service and also for admission fees – 027 482 2024.

The annual Wild Flower Show is held in the Dutch Reformed Church in Clanwilliam. The ten-day show running in the last week of August and first week of September transforms the church into a kaleidoscope of flower activity accessible to everyone and is an absolute must on a tour of this spectacular and exciting part of the country.
