This November, event organizers are adding a dash of excitement by urging participants to ‘dress for the occasion’ on Sunday, 19 November, marking the grand finale of the event, no celebration is complete without fantastic prizes, and this year, the two riders sporting the most imaginative outfits (one male and one female) will each pocket an impressive R10,000 along with 10 cases of Savanna cider.
The Event Founder, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The excitement soared in 2022 with our best-dressed competition, and we want to see even more riders embrace the challenge in 2023. Get creative and show us what ’10’ means to you. Whether it’s a word with ‘ten,’ the numeral itself, or your unique interpretation of a ten-year celebration, let your creativity shine.
The top three male and female contenders, chosen by our judges, will be showcased during the prize-giving, and the winners will be determined by the audience. Remember, to be eligible for the prize, you must flaunt your outfit throughout the stage. So, unleash your creative spirit and join in the fun.”
Fondly known as ‘SA’s MTB Party of the Year,’ the Savanna Origin of Trails is a unique 2-Day MTB Stage Race that showcases the picturesque landscapes of Stellenbosch. Cyclists will explore an extensive network of top-notch, exclusive trails while celebrating the origins of mountain biking in South Africa.
To gear up for the 10th annual Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience that will take place on the 18th and 19th of November 2023, participants are invited to a delightful Training Ride set against the charming backdrop of Somerbosch Wines on Saturday, 4 November 2023.

The organizers have introduced thrilling route enhancements that promise to enthrall riders from beginning to end in the beautiful town of Stellenbosch, it will take place at Coetzenburg Stellenbosch University, while Stellenbosch’s exceptional trails remain the event’s backbone, this year’s organizers plan to elevate the MTB experience by bringing the ‘MTB Party’ home to the vibrant ‘City of Oaks.’
