Shangana Cultural Village, Hazyiew, Mpumalanga

Visit the Xintu Village, the Shangaan Chief’s Kraal and the Sangoma. Guides show you the Shangaan way and teach you about Shangaan culture, people, food and way of life.

Created and managed by the local Shangana people, the Shangana Cultural Village is in fact a cluster of small individual traditional villages, where people live, work and ply their trades in arts and crafts in a beautiful natural heritage reserve.

The centre of the Shangana Cultural Village is a market, where you can buy Shangaan arts and crafts. Tours include a visit to this central market, guided walking tours of the villages, traditional meals and the ‘famed Evening Festival in the Chief’s Kraal’.

Getting there: The Shangana Village is located between Graskop and Hazyview – about 4km from Graskop on the ‘Graskop’ Rd.
