Kicking off this nostalgic journey is the 2002 musical crime drama, Chicago, directed by Rob Marshall and featuring Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Richard Gere. It premieres tomorrow, on 10 May.
The following week, on 17 May, the romantic fantasy Meet Joe Black (1998) will enchant audiences once again. Directed by Martin Brest, this film stars Brad Pitt and Sir Anthony Hopkins, promising an unforgettable cinematic experience.
Continuing the romance theme, on 24 May, viewers can relive the magic of Notting Hill (1999), starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. This timeless classic is sure to capture hearts anew.
Wrapping up the Throwback Cinema series on 31 May is the beloved sci-fi comedy, Back to the Future (1985), directed by Robert Zemeckis. Join Marty McFly and Doc Brown in their time-traveling adventures, as they soar back onto the silver screen in their iconic DeLorean.
All Throwback Cinema screenings are available for pre-booking at a flat rate of R50. Audiences can catch these screenings at various Ster-Kinekor cinemas nationwide, including Fourways, Sandton, Rosebank, Irene, and The Grove in Gauteng; Gateway in KwaZulu-Natal; and Somerset, Tygervalley, and V&A Waterfront in the Western Cape.
