Talent Africa has been a massive platform for young talented performers for over 10 years. Hosting regional auditions across South Africa in numerous provinces and then having their official national round where participants from all over SA perform their hearts out for industry top professionals and veterans to be awarded a medal the end of the week.
However, this year – Talent Africa has partnered up with an esteemed young man – Nicho Barnard, who is not only the CEO and Founder of the South African Film, Acting & Theatre Awards, but also a Youth Diplomat for South Africa. Talent Africa’s partnership with Nicho Barnard in 2018 and 2019 has got Talent Africa literally kicking down every possible door in order to improve their competition even further and to provide even more opportunities for people who participate in Talent Africa.
Talent Africa not only provides numerous International Trips, Well-known industry judges and scouting opportunities. But this year, not only are they going bigger and better. Talent Africa is also working with Nicho Barnard and Windmill Productions to launch a new Reality TV Series based on the journey of Talent Africa on DSTV later this year. The reality series will be produced and Directed by Nicho Barnard and his colleagues of Windmill Productions – a niche and small production firm which is also the home of a potential International Drama-Tv Series.
Nicho is also heading a massive Theatre Production titled DREAMS inspired by an International TV Series set to be released later on worldwide platforms. The theatre production will be hosted by Nicho’s academy SAFATA in conjunction with Talent Africa and will see over 150+ performers on stage for this massive production set to grace the stage in May 2019 at the Roodepoort Theatre.
Barnard also teases that “You might even see some familiar faces as we will be inviting some guest celebrity performances into the show”.
Nationals, which is coming up the end of March and spans over an entire week at the Roodepoort Theatre, invites qualifying singers, dancers, models, instrumentalists, actors and many more to the stage where they perform and work hard. At the end of the week, Talent Africa puts up not only a showcase for Juniors and Seniors but also awards the participants with a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal based on their performance. Special Awards, Overall Age Category Awards, and other awards also get handed out and young tiny tots form as young as 4 years to adults over the age of 40+ all compete for their chance to receive recognition in the performing arts.
Not only do the participants receive medals, trophies and special awards, but Talent Africa also selects and chooses gold medalist winners to be part of TEAM SOUTH AFRICA – to travel to New York City for Talent America where they can perform and represent their country against fellow countries in the big apple. Here in New York City, participants not only perform in front of an esteemed panel of judges consisting of high-end industry veterans, but there is also scouts, Music & TV Producers and so much more.
Talent Africa has also taken it further by providing participants with the opportunity to go to other countries for Euro Sing and Euro Dance, which includes trips to Croatia, Polland and many more.

Talent Africa 2019, which will be featured in a new reality tv series later this year, has reached maximum capacity as it will see over 3500+ items on stage during nationals in Roodepoort and Port Elizabeth.
