The Badplaas Sulphur Springs (Forever Resorts Badplaas)

The Emanzana Sulphur Springs at Badplaas are the core of the resort town’s existence. The resort that has grown up around the springs is currently managed by Forever Resorts, and offers extensive 3 star hotel accommodation, self-catering lodges and chalets and camping and caravan spots.

Typical family resort facilities can be found such a waterpark and other activities for children and adults alike within the resort, as well as 4X4 trails and guided quad biking safaris in the small private game reserve that surrounds the resort and many other activities in the surrounding mountainous and beautiful area.

Badplaas Sulphur Springs – Badplaas Hydro

Of course the main attraction on the resort are the mineral pools and the Hydro. Named Emanzana (Healing Waters) by the local Swazi people who discovered it, the natural hot sulphur spring is channeled and utilised within the Badplaas Hydro – consisting of 3 hot pools, 1 cold pool and 4 private hydro jet pools. The Hydro is fully developed and a full range of professional spa treatments are on offer.

The Hydro is also open in the evenings, and the steamy pools are a beautiful sight at night. While sulphur springs are known for their healing powers, particularly when it comes to rheumatuc and skin complaints, simply lazing in the large pools (both indoor and outdoor) on ‘getting-chilly’ winter evenings requires no health complaints whatsoever – just an appreciation for pure bliss.
