The Bryanston Organic and Natural Market, Johannesburg

Bryanston Organic Market

As every Joburger knows, the best market in town is the Bryanston Organic & Natural Market, held every Thursday and Saturday, 9am-3pm. It is touted as the only place to buy organic!

Established in 1976 from humble beginnings, it has grown to a thriving market community.

The basic idea is to promote products and activities that heal the earth and its people by providing a holistic, supportive environment for organic farmers, artists, musicians and crafters to earn a living and express their gifts.

There are over 120 stalls to explore, selling everything from fresh produce to deli foods; health and wellness products to jewellery; designer clothing to fabulous crafts and more.

All products from the ground are grown without the help of artificial fertilisers and chemicals – everything is natural, so expect the odd mark or blemish, which is easily forgiven by the amazing burst of sun-ripened flavour these products exude.

Bottled and prepared products are also as natural as possible; no colorants, artificial flavourings or preservatives are used. While walking around the stalls you’ll find quality handcrafted goods, unique art and photography, clothing made from natural fibres, and a deli filled with delicious healthy foods.

You Definitely won’t go hungry on a day out at the markets

There are three eateries serving a selection of scrumptious yummies to choose from. Pair that with live music and ample free parking and you’ve got yourself a great day out for everyone.

There are also exciting Moonlight Markets held on Tuesday evenings of the month from mid-November  to December, open from 5pm – 9pm. For music and kids activities check the Website.

Tel: 011 706 3671. Open Thursday and Saturday 9am to 3pm.

Location: Culross Road (off Main Rd), Bryanston, Johannesburg
