The East London Aquarium is South Africa’s oldest aquarium, having been established in 1931. Animals that can be seen at the aquarium include seals, penguins, turtles and a variety of marine fish. Whales and dolphins can be seen free in their natural environment from the seafront aquarium’s ocean viewing deck.

Daily features include performing seals and penguin feeding.

Getting there: The Aquarium is situated on the Esplanade on the East London seaboard, east of the Buffalo River mouth and harbour.
